ONE FORMULA, ONE ANSWER

Projectile Range Calculator

Calculate ideal projectile range when launch and landing heights match. Choose input units and calculate one value within the stated conditions.

Inputs

Zero or greater

Angle from 0 to 90°

Greater than zero after conversion to SI

Calculations run in this browser. Scientific notation such as 1.2e-3 is supported. Do not group thousands.

Result

Same-height horizontal range R

Enter values and select Calculate.

FORMULA

R = v₀² sin(2θ)/g

Assumptions

Required: v₀≥0, g>0, 0≤θ≤90° and equal launch and landing heights in uniform gravity. Excluded: air resistance and lift. Only one range value is returned.

Displayed values are floating-point approximations. Design safety factors and unprovided error contributions are not calculated.
