Subsections 31(1) and (2) of the Legislation Revision and
Consolidation Act, in force on June 1, 2009, provide as fol-
lows:

31 (1) Every copy of a consolidated statute or consolidated
regulation published by the Minister under this Act in either
print or electronic form is evidence of that statute or regula-
tion and of its contents and every copy purporting to be pub-
lished by the Minister is deemed to be so published, unless
the contrary is shown.
31 (1) Tout exemplaire d'une loi codifiée ou d'un règlement
codifié, publié par le ministre en vertu de la présente loi sur
support papier ou sur support électronique, fait foi de cette

Inconsistencies in Acts Incompatibilité — lois
(2) In the event of an inconsistency between a consolidated
statute published by the Minister under this Act and the origi-
nal statute or a subsequent amendment as certified by the
Clerk of the Parliaments under the Publication of Statutes
Act, the original statute or amendment prevails to the extent
of the inconsistency.

Coordination with the Cannabis Act Coordination avec la Loi sur le
cannabis
68 (1) If Bill C-45, introduced in the 1st session
of the 42nd Parliament and entitled the
Cannabis Act (referred to in this section and sec-
tion 118 as the “other Act”), receives royal as-
sent, then for the purposes of this section and
sections 117 and 118, commencement day means
the day on which subsection 204(1) of the other
Act comes into force.
68 (1) Si le projet de loi C-45, déposé au cours
de la 1 re session de la 42 e législature et intitulé
Loi sur le cannabis (appelé « autre loi » au pré-
sent article et à l’article 118) est sanctionné,
pour les fins du présent article et des articles 117
et 118, date de référence s’entend de la date d’en-
trée en vigueur du paragraphe 204(1) de l’autre
loi.
(2) If the other Act receives royal assent, then
sections 69 to 78, subsection 79(1), section 84,
subsection 85(2), sections 87, 89 to 106 and 108
to 113 and subsection 115(1) come into force on
the first day on which both this Act and the other
Act have received royal assent.
(2) Si l’autre loi est sanctionnée, les articles 69 à
78, le paragraphe 79(1), l’article 84, le para-
graphe 85(2), les articles 87, 89 à 106 et 108 à
113 et le paragraphe 115(1) entrent en vigueur le
premier jour où la présente loi et l’autre loi sont
toutes deux sanctionnées.
