The draw weights Earth’s life forms by their carbon biomass. It does not use individual counts or real birth probabilities.

The 72 outcomes use group carbon estimates from the 2018 study. Within wild land mammals, 2023 species wet-mass shares provide an approximate split. Source uncertainty and differences in study coverage remain.
