ONE FORMULA, ONE ANSWER

Shaft Torque Power Calculator

Check mechanical shaft power from signed torque and rotation speed. Choose input units and calculate one value within the stated conditions.

Inputs

Negative, zero or positive

Negative, zero or positive

Calculations run in this browser. Scientific notation such as 1.2e-3 is supported. Do not group thousands.

Result

Mechanical shaft power P

Enter values and select Calculate.

FORMULA

P = T ω, ω = 2π n / 60 (n: rpm)

Assumptions

Choose a positive direction on the same shaft for torque and angular velocity. Matching signs give positive transferred power; opposite signs give negative power. This is not electrical input power. Motor efficiency and starting peaks are excluded.

Displayed values are floating-point approximations. Measurement uncertainty and design safety factors are not calculated.
