ONE FORMULA, ONE ANSWER

Sensible Heat Calculator

Calculate sensible heat for heating or cooling without a phase change. Choose input units and calculate one value within the stated conditions.

Enter values and select Calculate.

FORMULA

Q = mc_pΔT

Assumptions

Required: m,c_p>0 and approximately constant c_p over the temperature interval. Use constant-pressure heating or cooling, or the usual solid/liquid approximation. Cooling is negative. Latent heat, heat losses, heating time and heater efficiency are excluded.

Displayed values are floating-point approximations. Design safety factors and unprovided error contributions are not calculated.
