Enter values and select Calculate.

FORMULA

Bo = |ρ₁ − ρ₂|gL² / σ

Assumptions

Required: two immiscible fluids with constant densities and interfacial tension. The result is a nonnegative magnitude using the absolute density difference. Excluded: deciding interface stability or shape from fluid ordering and Bo alone.

Displayed values are floating-point approximations. Design safety factors and unprovided error contributions are not calculated.
