I am pleased to announce that Dr. Darío Gil will be the next Under Secretary for Science and Innovation at the United States Department of Energy.\n \nDarío is a brilliant businessman and scientist, with a distinguished record as the Chairman of the National Science Board, and Senior Vice President and Director of IBM Research. He previously served on the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology during my First Term.\n \nDarío is an elected member of the National Academy of Engineering, and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.\n \nCongratulations Darío!
