Yesterday @PatRyanUC and I shared a beautiful day across New York. We started with produce workers in the Bronx bringing in apples from Ulster County. Then we went to Kingston and held a town hall in Glens Falls. Because when working people come together, anything is possible.

Yes, absolutely. And there are ways for members to face consequences and public disclosure while also protecting victims. We can start with identifying members who have actually expended taxpayer funds on settlements, instead of blurring debunked claims with real ones - which also hurts victims further.

The DOJ has also hurt victims while protecting predators in their botched release of the files! They did NOT protect victim info in many files, leaving many victims harmed and further violated while DOJ continues to redact the names of the powerful. We should protect those hurt

Personally I think we should get rid of all of it. I refuse all corporate lobbyist money and I don’t believe we should be bankrolled by special interests at all. Each cycle the big dark money interests rotate - NRA, AIPAC, fossil fuel lobby, etc. This cycle it’s the AI lobby.

This is sad. I know as a politician these companies are going to spend a billion dollars against me for saying it but 🤷🏽♀️ Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.

Politicians - especially Dems - should pledge not to take AI money. They are buying up influence ahead of the midterms, and Dems who take AI $ will lose authority and trust as the public bears the cost. Their money will end up being toxic anyway. People are catching on.

I can ask! This is a boring (but relevant) process piece - if I’m not mistaken, the way this came to the floor was unusual. The rushed process prevented people from proposing constructive amendments, so part of it is up to the original authors being open to that. GOP controls floor and that’s why the process piece is relevant. How things get to the floor is a huge part of if they can get a successful vote in the first place and if they can come back again. If this bill was eligible to be filed as something known as a privileged resolution, then you can bypass the speaker and bring it to the floor to trigger an immediate vote. If that was the case here then the answer is yes, especially if the original authors are open. There is a very small class of bills eligible to be filed this way, w…

Hey, I remember that day! Thank you for canvassing! ☺️

I never have. Feel free to continue lying publicly, though. Those checks don’t cash themselves and you aren’t talented enough to be relevant with the truth.

The only fraudulent activity here is your covering up how you were endangering survivor info, attacking one of the few other survivors in Congress, & refusing to fix serious flaws that endanger victims without consent. Fix it and people will vote YES.

Today, the FBI and NYPD disrupted a plot by a member of a pro-Israel terrorist organization to assassinate Nerdeen Kiswani. This is a reprehensible act of political violence. There is no place for it in our city nor our country. I am thankful Ms. Kiswani is safe and the assailant is under arrest.

Lady, your sloppy resolution would have doxxed victim statements that had identifying info. It redacted names & NOTHING else. House empl. records can match statements to reverse ID names. Take your job seriously. Fix your messy loopholes & I’d vote YES. You know that. Not hard!

FYI - there’s more details and I think we can get there. There were real problems in the text and they rushed the vote so it couldn’t get fixed in time to protect victims

SO proud of @AyannaPressley for pulling this off. This is a huge achievement that took a tremendous amount of leadership, foresight, and organizing. Support her!

I have long said if victims are protected I will gladly vote yes.

That project is in a different Congressional district. The Bronx one is in my district. I have voiced my opposition to both

This is absolutely not enough. Just on the policy piece alone, there are SO many individuals - staff, advisors, consultants, cabinet secretaries, spouses, and more - that can trade on insider information. This is just a fig leaf to deflect from criticism. We need to do more.

Nice try. I took the Amtrak home. We tried to pay TSA almost a dozen times and Republicans said no every time. Then the GOP Speaker closed session last night and sent everyone home. Please Google what party is in charge of Congress right now. The answer may surprise you!
